Concert

We had a concert on Thursday with about 28 people (Something like that). Which was awesome. I broke my D string in the MIDDLE of Darkness and still did my solo. :D It was so much fun. We also had "Special geust" Liz come up and sing Dreams with us.

We weren't perfect but it was really good. It all started for two of our friends who are going back to college and we ended up with way too many people. lol

It was a lot of fun and I can't wait to do another one. :)

Question

So I asked some friends if they know any tips on singing with a gravelly/screamo voice without actually wrecking your voice, and here's what I've gotten so far:

Scream with your stomach, not your throat. When you do scream, make sure there's plenty of saliva in the back of your throat.. but not too much or else you can't breath. And it helps to drink very hot tea mixed with honey in it an hour or so before, and lots and lots of water right before, during, and after.

For Colossians chapter 1 some verses that i liked were 22 and 23

22 in the body of his flesh though death,
to present you holy and unblameable
and unreproveable in his sight:
23 if you continue in the faith
grounded and settled, and be not
moved away from the hope of the
gospel, which you have heard, and
which was preached to every creature
which is under heaven; whereof I Paul
am made a minister;

Verse 22 i feel shows what Jesus did on the cross for us but more so why he did it. On 23 im a little confused, but i guess Paul is saying that if the people of Colosse listened to him and held on to what he said that he would be made a minister.

I'm open to any comments if you have any.

For chapter 2 I picked verse 10

10 and you are complete in him which
is the head of all principality and power

Colossians 2:8

Since I'm studying biology and World History and had some skepticism about the age of the earth and theories on evolution ext ext ext... I liked this verse.

"Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ."
Colossians 2:8 KJV
"See to it that no one carries you off as spoil or makes you yourselves captive by his so-called philosophy and intellectualism and vain deceit (idle fancies and plain nonsense), following human tradition (men's ideas of the material rather than the spiritual world), just crude notions following the rudimentary and elemental teachings of the universe and disregarding [the teachings of] Christ (the Messiah)."
Colossians 2:8 Amplified

I like the amplified when it says "intellectualism... and plain nonsense" That to me describes a lot of the stuff that we here today as "facts", when in reality the only prof is a theory.

It also reminded me to watch what I accept as truth and that our God IS God and HE has the only truth and what he says IS right there is NO need to doubt him. :)
